How does reverse cycle air conditioning work?
Reverse cycle air conditioning systems utilize a refrigerated process to remove or add heat to your space and change the air temperature.

This involves refrigerant, a special substance that can easily shift between gas and liquid states.

By undergoing this transformation, the refrigerant allows heat to be removed from indoors pushed outdoors in cooling mode or In heating mode the system absorbs outdoor heat, even when its "cold" outside and moves this heat indoors, effectively changing and controlling the air temperature throughout your space.

Unlike evaporative coolers, humidity does not affect these systems, keeping you perfectly comfortable all year long.

The outdoor unit and indoor unit are connected with refirgeration pipework and air is distributed using ducting or individual indoor units.

For ducted systems the addition of a smart climate control zone controller allows each zone can have its own individual tempertature. Where indivual or multi splits by ther enature have this built in.

7 Reasons to Choose a Split System.
1. Indivudal temperature control for each room, reducing household disputes over settings. Switch on in only the rooms you’re using, saving energy.

2. Enhanced Comfort with advanced technology and features, ensuring precise control for maximum comfort and energy efficency.

3. New technolgy and refigerants designed for efficiency with inverter compressors and intelligent features, these systems use 30-50% less energy than older air con systems.

4. Quiet indoor operation as low as 19dB, split systems are quieter than rustling leaves, ensuring a peaceful environment.

5. Year-Round usage with both cooling and heating functions, these systems provide consistent comfort regardless of temperature or humidity.

6. Air Purification options to reduce mould, allergens and pollen by more than 99% with some models.

7. Cost-effective to install and operate, split systems save you money on both installation and energy bills.

Why Greener Race?
We offer obligation-free on-site quotes for new and swap-out systems.

We are a single point of contact for you Air con needs. Quote, supply, install and maintain.

We have years of experience designing and installing quality air conditioning systems that work year after year.

Our team is not just made up of electricians with a one-day air con install course. Our "fridgies" have completed four-year apprenticeship in refrigeration and air conditioning, often with additional skill sets and training are specialists in this field.

We use top-quality units from Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric.

These are the industry standard for larger projects and known for reliability, energy efficency and support.

If the event of a fault or issue in the future we have technical and parts support for longer than most other manufacturers with Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric. Often extending the life of the machine beyond other brands.

We offer lower-specced brands, usually for individual split systems which will save a few dollars upfront. We don't recommend these for multi-split or ducted systems as we aim to maximize the lifespan of your investment given complexity and cost of these bigger systems.

We are electrical contractors and do our own electrical work.

We use installation materials that meet or exceed Australian standards.

We strive to do everything the best possible way and to the highest standards.

We back up our workmanship with long installation warranties to ensure worry-free comfort.

  • Get in contact with us and we book a time with you for a free onsite quote and consultation for new or swap out air conditioning system installs
  • We discuss your needs to help identify what is the most suitable unit and fully scope the job so there are no hidden costs.
  • We provide an Initial Proposal that may list serval units at different price points showing the final installed price for each unit and include manufacturer information. We can sometimes remove this step and go straight to a written quote if it's clear during our onsite visit what is most suitable in terms or price and manufacturer preference.
  • Based on you choice we then send a final firm written quote for your acceptance
  • We make a booking with you in for the installation.
  • Our team arrives on the installation day. Your new air conditioner is installed and tested. We can assist with setting and how to use it if you need help.
  • We clean up and remove our waste
  • 12 months later we come back and complete a first Maintenance to ensure the unit is cleaned and working to specification.
Our focus is energy efficiency, reliability and longevity.

Our primary brands are Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric as they both have reputations for reliability and energy efficiency. These are often the requirement for commercial and government projects. With superior long term parts and technical support in the event there is a fault we can often repair these units for much longer than others at a fraction of the cost of replacing.

We offer a range of mid range units like Fujitsu and budget units from MDV (same factory as Rinnai, Kelvinator, Kaden, Carrier, Midea) and Hisense.

Depending on your preferences and needs we can find a unit that suits your needs and budget.

All units come with a 5 year manufacturer warranty.
We back our workmanship with a 5 year installation warranty.

We offer free onsite quotes for all new installs and swap outs. During this consultation we will advise you after assement of your particular situation.

As a general rule of thumb you can multiple your square meters by

1.25 x meters square for southern and eastern rooms
1.5 x meters square for north and western rooms

South east bedroom of 20 m/2 = 20 x 1.25 - 2.5 Kw
North western living room 60 m/2 = 60 x 1.5 = 9kW

Capacity can vary based on a few factors such as the level of insulation in the room, the number of windows, the amount of direct sunlight, and the local climate and openings to passageways will also add to the size required.

Insulation plays a huge role, not only includes ceiling insulation but also window treatments.  Block out curtains will reduce heat loads and loss far greater than no window coverings or vertical blinds.
Studies show that on average humans feel comfortable around 23.5c this is generally what we set office AC system to in summer.

In homes we can wear a jumper in winter or lighter clothes in summer, this setting the temp a little bit on either side of 23.5 means most people will remain comfy.

Just remember for every 1 degree you change the temp setting you will save 10% power. going from 20c to 25c in summer is a 50% energy saving.

Every woken up with a dry sore throat and feeling chilly if you have left the AC on at night?

Raise the temp to 24-26 there will be no more sore dry throats.

Air con in cooling mode by it's nature will dehumidifies the space it's cooling. This includes us, having the temp set a little higher stops the AC from drying us out and reduces energy consumption significantly and you wont wake up cold with the blankets pulled up mid summer.

For heating around 20-21 is a good temp to take the chill out of the air and feel comfy. With the money you save on the power bill you can afford a tropical holiday if you really want the 26-28 temp range.
Yes, we are both refrigeration / air conditioning mechanics and electricians.

They are different apprenticeships and different qualifications and licenses.

This allows us to work on, repair and maintain all types of air conditioning systems and electrical installations

We have a mix of dual trade qualified, single trade and single trade undertaking the 2nd apprenticeship staff on our team.

We also support skills development train new people people by offering a first apprenticeships in refrigeration and air conditioning or Electrical.
On average, an AC unit can last between 10 to 15 years with proper maintenance and regular servicing.

A split type air conditioner typically lasts for 10+ years. Its performance may decline over time, leading to inefficiency and higher bills. If this happens, consider replacing it with a newer and more efficient model.

If you the unit is 15+ years old, it may not be an inverter model in which case there are significant energy savings to be had by replacing it.

If your existing unit has a fault and requires parts. These are sometimes cheap but no longer available. The exception to this is Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric we can ger parts for these units for an extended period.

Repairing an old unit may or may not be cost-effective when compared to installing a new unit, this will depend on age, size of unit, brand and parts availability.

Weighing up the repair cost V replacing it with new unit and having a new 5 year warranty needs to be considered.

We can provide a written quote  for both a repair options and for installing a new replacement unit
